As a grandma, you’re also a babysitter sometimes. But you’re much more than that! You’re a big help in so many ways—and you do it all with love. Our kids are so thankful for everything you do. When you’re caring for the grandkids, even just part-time, here are a few things to keep in mind…
Be a second set of eyes
Keep an eye on the daycare or regular babysitter. If you notice something great, let the parents know! If something feels off, gently bring it up. Your input helps keep the kids safe and happy.
Make the most of special babysitting days
When you get to watch your grandkids, make the most of that time! Play fun games, laugh together, and show them lots of love. If you can, offer to help out more often. You’re a big blessing to the whole family!
Help with drop-off and pick-up
If you drive the grandkids, check their car seats to make sure they’re safe and snug. This gives Mom and Dad a big break. Plus, car rides are a great time for stories and fun games!
Tell stories and read books
Reading helps your brain and theirs! Share fun books or tell stories from your own life. Kids love hearing about the past, and they can learn a lot from you.
Most importantly, remember that your love is what matters the most. The world is always changing, but love never goes out of style. When grandkids feel loved and supported, they grow strong and confident.
They are our future, and your care helps guide them in the right direction.
