Since 2001, a kind and talented photographer from Taiwan named Annie Hsiao-Ching Wang has been working on something truly special. She calls it “The Mother as a Creator.”
This project started before her son was even born. Every year, Annie takes a photo with him while standing in front of the picture from the year before. With each new photo, their story grows like a beautiful, living scrapbook—layer by layer, year by year.
Through these portraits, we can see her little boy grow from a tiny child into a young man. At the same time, we watch Annie’s own journey as both a mother and an artist. It all began with a brave self-portrait taken the day before she gave birth, and it has turned into a powerful collaboration between mother and son.
Annie’s work has been shown all around the world. But more than anything, it stands as a shining symbol of love, strength, and the creative bond between a mom and her child.
