Everyone needs a helping hand sometimes, no matter their age.
For 82-year-old Nancee Lingg, that moment came at Appleton International Airport when she found herself struggling with her luggage. Thankfully, a tall and kind stranger stepped in to help.
Her troubles weren’t over, though. When she landed, Nancee was promised a wheelchair, but no one was there to meet her, and the wheelchairs sat unused. Without hesitation, the stranger gently offered to push her, and Nancee gratefully accepted.
As they moved through the airport, the two shared friendly conversation. Neither Nancee nor her helper gave much thought to who he was—until they met up with Nancee’s granddaughter, Teresa Lingg Knuth. Teresa noticed the Green Bay Packers tags on his bag and realized the man helping her grandma was Aaron Jones, the team’s running back.
Aaron took time to chat warmly with both women and even posed for photos before heading on his way. His small act of kindness quickly reached far beyond that airport. A fellow traveler, who goes by “Momica” on Twitter, posted:
“Just watched Packers Aaron Jones push a random lady through the Appleton airport because there was no one there to push her. GO PACK GO.”
The post spread quickly, and people everywhere praised Aaron—not for his fame, but for his kindness.
The story became even more special when Teresa, Nancee’s granddaughter, replied to the tweet with photos of herself, her grandma, and Aaron. With pride, she wrote, “That’s my Grandma!”
The post quickly gained thousands of likes, and people everywhere were touched by Aaron’s kindness.
When Packers coach Mike McCarthy heard about it, he wasn’t surprised at all. He shared his admiration for Aaron, saying, “I’m thankful that everybody else is getting to see what I get to see pretty much every day. This team is full of good people, and Aaron is one of them.”
A quick visit to Aaron Jones’ Instagram shows just how big-hearted he is. Mixed in with his everyday photos are pictures of him smiling with fans—like one sweet moment where he posed with two kids beside their favorite cereal.
This touching story reminds us that no matter how famous or successful someone becomes, there’s always room to show kindness. And those small acts of love can leave a lasting impact on others.
