There’s nothing sweeter than being together again—and that’s exactly what this story is all about. In the video below, we witness a truly special moment: Grandma Ligaya and her granddaughter Shezka seeing each other for the first time in 13 years!
When Shezka was just eight years old, her grandmother moved from the Philippines to Australia. Then in 2011, Shezka, her two siblings, and their mom moved all the way to the United States. The family was now living on three different continents.
Over the years, they stayed in touch through phone calls, but they hadn’t seen each other face to face in over a decade.
Now 21 years old and serving in the U.S. Navy, Shezka finally had a chance to make something magical happen. A family reunion was being planned in the Philippines—and Shezka secretly flew there a week early to surprise her grandma.
She kept everything a secret, still calling her grandmother and pretending to be far away. Then, the big day came. The family gathered at a hotel, and Grandma Ligaya walked into the room, having no idea what was about to happen.
As she looked around, she suddenly caught sight of someone she recognized. Her eyes grew wide. Sitting at the table was her little granddaughter—now all grown up! Shezka stood up, and the two rushed into each other’s arms, hugging tightly as happy tears streamed down their faces.
It was a beautiful moment filled with love, joy, and the power of family. After all those years apart, they were finally together again. ❤️
