Getting older isn’t so bad. In fact, it’s better than the other option—not being here at all! We should feel lucky and thankful that God has given us so many years. It’s a special gift to be alive long enough to see your grandchildren—or even great-grandchildren—come into the world.
But if we can’t laugh at ourselves as we get older, what’s the point? Laughter really is the best medicine. And the grandma in this video knows exactly how to enjoy life with a smile! You’re going to want to see this one—turn up the volume!
Grandma Vera is celebrating her 90th birthday with 60 of her family and friends. And guess what? She brought out her guitar and sang a funny song she wrote 23 years ago. It’s even funnier now that she’s turning 90!
The song is a twist on the classic “Fall to Pieces” by Patsy Cline. But Grandma Vera changed the words to fit what it’s like to grow old. She sings it for all the seniors in the room and adds with a smile, “If you young people don’t believe me, I’ve got news for you!”
As she sings, everyone bursts into laughter. Her version is just too good—especially the part about how we “scrimp and save for the golden years, but when we get here, we fall to pieces.”
Don’t miss Grandma Vera’s hilarious performance in the video below!
