Every new grandchild is a special gift. They’re tiny blessings from God who bring love, joy, and energy into the family. They don’t just carry on the family name—they fill our hearts with happiness! The love between grandparents and grandchildren is one of a kind. And if we’re really lucky, we get to see our great-grandkids too!
In the video below, a 105-year-old man named James Herald Spring is about to meet his brand-new great-grandson for the first time. His family says he’s still sharp, active, and independent. He looks amazing for his age!
Everyone calls him “Pop,” but Pop is nervous about holding the baby. “I’m going to drop him!” he says. But his family gently encourages him to try. And guess what? Baby Easton, who is just five days old, snuggles right into Pop’s arms like they were made for each other!
“It was more than we expected—the hugs, the look in his eyes,” says Susan Zwolak, Pop’s granddaughter. You can see the bond forming between them right away. It’s a beautiful moment. I’m so happy Pop gave it a chance. Holding Easton made the whole family’s day—maybe even their year!
