I think a lot of us can relate to this. We love making our homes look just like we imagine them. A big part of that is curb appeal and gardening!
It not only makes the yard look nice, but it’s also a fun and relaxing hobby. You can spend as much time on it as you want.
When a grandmother named Karen moved into her new home, she knew she had a big job ahead of her.
Karen Brooke, who is 67 years old, bought a $340,000 three-bedroom bungalow on Forest Avenue in Goostrey, Cheshire. But the yard was a mess. She saw the potential, though, and was excited to turn it into a peaceful garden on a budget.
Karen got started by clearing out the overgrown plants. She reused as many old materials as she could and searched online and at local sales for what she needed. In the end, she saved over $6,000 on the whole project!
She says the biggest help was buying a tiller. After cutting down all the weeds with a hedge trimmer, she realized digging by hand would take forever. So, she went to the store and got a tiller to help break up the ground.
With a lot of love and hard work, Karen turned her yard into a beautiful outdoor space. It’s now a place she’s proud of—and I think it looks amazing! 😊
