Most of us have someone very special in our lives. These are the people we can count on no matter what. They stick with us through both the hard and happy times. They’re the ones who listen when we need to talk, and who give kind words to lift us up.
Can you imagine life without those people? They might be a parent, a spouse, a neighbor, or a grandparent. No matter who they are, they’re a true gift in our lives. And sometimes, we just want to do something special to show them how much they mean to us.
One short video posted on YouTube captured a moment just like that.
The clip shows a young boy in a baseball uniform walking toward an elderly man. We soon realize the man is his grandfather. The boy is holding something behind his back—it’s a baseball.
The boy begins to tell his grandpa about his game. He excitedly shares that he struck out 12 players! Because of that, he was given the game ball as a reward.
But then, he does something amazing.
“I got the game ball, and I wanted to give it to you,” the boy says as he hands it to his grandpa.
The grandfather is so moved, he can’t say a word. He simply pulls his grandson into a hug. And honestly, sometimes a hug says everything.
